CORTIS’ “FaSHioN” Hits 100M YouTube Views — Their First-Ever MV Milestone

CORTIS Hits First 100 Million-View MV as “FaSHioN” Crosses Major YouTube Milestone

CORTIS has just notched a milestone nearly a year in the making. According to BigHit Music, the music video for “FaSHioN” surpassed 100 million views on YouTube at approximately 4 a.m. KST on September 5, marking the first time any CORTIS music video has crossed the nine-figure mark.

The video was released on September 8, 2025, meaning it took roughly 11 months and 27 days for “FaSHioN” to reach the milestone.

For a group that only debuted a little over a year ago, the achievement is a meaningful marker of just how quickly CORTIS has built momentum — both as individual artists and as one of BigHit Music’s most closely watched new investments.

What Is “FaSHioN”?

“FaSHioN” is the title track from CORTIS’ debut EP, “COLOR OUTSIDE THE LINES,” which arrived on September 8, 2025, roughly three weeks after the group’s official debut.

The song leans into the members’ shared personal interest in fashion, built around lyrics referencing vintage materials and styling choices that speak directly to the group’s identity as a self-described “creator crew”

A label BigHit Music has used to emphasize that CORTIS members are directly involved in writing, producing, and shaping their own visual concepts, rather than simply performing material handed to them.

That hands-on creative involvement has been part of CORTIS’ pitch to fans and the industry from the very beginning, and “FaSHioN” was an early showcase of it: a song built around a concept the members says came from something they were all genuinely into.

Who Is CORTIS?

CORTIS is a five-member boy group — Martin, James, Juhoon, Seonghyeon, and Keonho — that debuted on August 18, 2025 under BigHit Music, the label behind BTS and TOMORROW X TOGETHER.

The debut carried significant weight before a single song was released: it marked BigHit Music’s first new boy group launch in six years, and only the third group the label has ever debuted, after BTS and TXT.

The members themselves come from varied backgrounds. Martin, the group’s leader, is Korean Canadian; James is from Hong Kong; and Juhoon, Seonghyeon, and Keonho are Korean.

Martin and James also have production pedigree that predates their own debut — both reportedly contributed to music and performances for other HYBE-affiliated acts, including TXT, ENHYPEN, and ILLIT, before CORTIS ever released a song.

The group’s name is a condensed version of the phrase “COLOR OUTSIDE THE LINES,” which doubles as the title of their debut EP and functions as something like a mission statement: a rookie act built around creative autonomy rather than a fully packaged, label-scripted image.

CORTIS’ rollout also leaned unusually international from the start.

Ahead of their formal debut, the group held offline fan events in both Seoul and Los Angeles — a rare move for a rookie act — with BigHit Music noting the significance of Los Angeles specifically, since the members had spent three months there working on their debut album before it was ever announced to the public.

A Fast Climb to 100 Million

Reaching 100 million views on a first music video in under a year isn’t a given, even for a label with BigHit’s reach.

It requires both an initial surge of attention around release and sustained rewatchability well after the news cycle around a debut has cooled — the kind of long-tail streaming that usually depends on a song continuing to resonate with a fandom, not just an algorithm.

In CORTIS’ case, “FaSHioN” has had help from the group’s broader 2026 trajectory. Since debuting in August 2025, CORTIS has moved quickly from “promising rookie” to a genuine chart presence:

  • Their debut mini-album, “COLOR OUTSIDE THE LINES,” sold roughly 2.07 million copies according to Circle Chart data, at the time standing as the highest sales figure for any K-pop debut album in history.

  • Their second EP, “GreenGreen,” released May 4, 2026, sold 2.3 million copies in its first week — making it 2026’s second-biggest K-pop release by that point, trailing only BTS.

  • “GreenGreen” charted at No. 1 on the Circle Album Chart, No. 2 on Japan’s Oricon Albums Chart, and No. 3 on the Billboard 200.

  • The EP’s title track, “REDRED,” gave CORTIS its first-ever terrestrial music show win, topped Melon’s Top 100 chart, and became the first rookie boy group song in five years to enter Billboard’s Bubbling Under Hot 100, debuting at No. 17.

  • “REDRED” also set a record for the most consecutive days atop Spotify’s Daily Top Songs Korea chart among any K-pop group song, reaching its 60th day at No. 1 by early July 2026.

That level of sustained chart activity throughout the first half of 2026 likely fed back into renewed interest in the group’s back catalog, including “FaSHioN” — a common pattern in K-pop, where a group’s breakout comeback often sends new listeners back to revisit earlier releases.

How CORTIS Compares to Other Rookie Milestones

Reaching 100 million views on a first MV in under 12 months places CORTIS among a competitive tier of recent K-pop debuts, though not at the very front of the pack.

Girl groups like NewJeans (roughly two months for “Attention”) and IVE (about four months for “ELEVEN”) reached the mark considerably faster, reflecting how quickly the genre’s viewing habits have accelerated in recent years.

On the boy group side, however, CORTIS’ pace looks more favorable: TXT’s “Crown” took around eight months to reach 100 million, while ENHYPEN’s “Given-Taken” took closer to a year and a half, and Stray Kids’ “District 9” took roughly two years.

Comparisons like these come with caveats — release-era platform dynamics, promotional budgets, and pre-existing fandom size (like inherited attention from labelmates) all shape how quickly a debut MV can climb. Still, sitting closer to TXT’s pace than to ENHYPEN’s or Stray Kids’ suggests CORTIS entered the field with an unusually strong initial launchpad for a rookie act with no prior discography to draw an audience from.

Why This Milestone Matters

The 100-million mark itself isn’t unusual in modern K-pop — plenty of songs from established groups clear that bar within days. What makes CORTIS’ case notable is the group’s newness relative to who they’re often compared to.

Unlike BTS, TXT, or ENHYPEN, CORTIS doesn’t have years of accumulated goodwill or a back catalog to lean on. Every number attached to “FaSHioN” reflects an audience the group built essentially from scratch, starting in August 2025.

It also reinforces a broader theme that’s followed CORTIS since debut: that BigHit Music’s bet on a self-producing “creator crew” concept, with members shaping their own songwriting and visual direction, is translating into commercial results rather than just critical or novelty interest.

A song built around the members’ actual interest in fashion clearing 100 million views a year later suggests that concept resonated beyond an initial promotional push.

In Conclusion :

For fans, known as COER, the milestone is being treated as confirmation of what the group’s 2026 chart performance had already been signaling — that CORTIS is not a one-comeback story, but a group building a durable, cumulative fanbase.

With “REDRED” still riding high on multiple charts and “FaSHioN” now crossing its own milestone, CORTIS heads into its second year with two very different eras of music both still generating attention at once, a rare position for any act still this early in its career.
